Ballyroan/Abbeyleix & District 4k 5.4.2017

Well done to Ballyroan/Abbeyleix & District on the running of this Summer Series. We had a good crew in attendance. First Lady to finish for Portlaoise was Grace Reilly who was also first lady overall in 14:43. We also had Anna Duggan in 16.27, Ailbhe Culleton 17:12, Olywin Larkin in 17:16, Amy Walsh 17:24, Lucy Dunne 18:39, Martina Delaney 19:05 Julieka Cahill Reid 20:52, Martina Gardiner 21:58, Sarah Conroy 22:02, Sinead Curtis 22:04, Tracey Gavin 22:17, Ursula O’Malley 22:31, Michelle Howard 24:19, Suzanne Miley 27:30, Emer Kelly Donnelly 28:21, Sandra Condell 29:10 and Emma Power 32:15.

First home for the Men on the evening was Joe Walsh in 15:06, followed by Niall Collins in 16:15, John Broderick in 17:26 and Brian Howard 24:22

National 10k Phoneix Park 9.4.2017

We had a few athletes take part on Sunday in the National 10k. Tony Reilly was first of the club home in a time of 33.45 and was second in the o45 category. Super running Tony. Next up was Aengus Burke in a time of 34:42 securing himself bronze medal in the O50’s category. This was Aengus fastest time on this course for a number of years and he is very grateful that his training under guidance of Ian and Teresa Wilson is paying off. Our ladies today were Olwyn Larkin who also ran her best time on this course finishing in 45.50 and Olive Maher also in a time of 59 mins. Well done Ladies and Gents.


Laois Triathlon 2017 8.4.2017

A great day for the outdoors on Saturday. Congratulations to John Healy who competed in his first Triathalon and did so very well. Elaine Moore and Patircia Naughton who are regular Triathlon competitors also took part in this event. Mary Catherine was part of a relay and ran a very good race to grab herself a PB. Well done to all.


IUAA Track & Field Championships Cork 8.4.2017

Well done Seodhna Hoey, representing DCU, who won silver in the women’s hammer and 4th in the weight for distance. PB’s in both events.


Clough 5k 9.4.2017

Anna Duggan was first lady home in 21:40 and Martina Hyland ran also in 24:29. Well done girls you are keeping the flag flying for Portlaoise AC each week while supporting these local events. your social media marketing partner
