Laois Athletics Senior Cross Country - Emo 2018

Portlaoise were proud to host the Laois Senior Cross Country on Sunday 4th last and by all means it was a very successful day.  Well done to all involved, especially Michael Delaney and Joe Walsh also special mention to Mountmellick AC’s Noel Coss for super job as MC.      The ladies event was the first of the senior races, and we got two ladies on the podium along with team bronze,  The ever modest Mary Mulhare took the lead from the off, and came home in style to take another title.  Grace Reilly came strongly through the field to secure an excellent third spot for the bronze medal.   Niamh Quinn, Maria Cuddy and Amy Walsh made up our ladies team on the day, congratulations girls.   The men's senior saw us down a few, resulting in us fielding six vets in our team of seven.  However, they put in a fine performance to take the silver team medals.    Well done to Tony Reilly, Tom Lupton, Aengus Burke, Richie Reid, James Hamm, Paul Cuddy and Noel Marum.  Finally congratulations to St Abbans on taking both team titles, a good days running all round.
